You lay on the cold ground crying, bits of dirt and pebbles getting into your hair. You couldn’t even believe what had just happened only a minute earlier. You heard Ponyboy yelling for his brothers as you lay next to him, trying hard to forget.
“Hey, aren’t you that broad who’s always hanging around that Curtis kid? Where is he now? Does he know a pretty girl like yourself shouldn’t be walking alone near our territory?” You shuddered and looked around, noticing you did almost drift into a Soc neighborhood. The Soc put his hand on your head and you slapped it away, backing up and turning around, ignoring him. The Soc didn’t seem to like that, and next thing you knew you were pinned to the wall, wincing as your back made contact with the concrete building.
“Stop it please! Let me go!” You screamed, attempting to draw attention. You heard footsteps approaching at a rapid speed towards. You felt the Soc let go roughly and you fell to the ground face first. You yelled in pain, touching your nose and feeling the blood run down it. You started crying and suddenly heard a panicked voice next to you.
“(Y/N?) Are you okay? What happened? Darry! Someone help!”
And this was where you were now, feeling tougher than ever as you laid crying in Ponyboy’s arms.
“Whe-where did that Soc go?” You stuttered out. Pony ran his hand through your hair and kissed your forehead.
“I punched him before he could even see me. He ran off somewhere. Now stop talking, you’re gonna be okay,” he spoke softly. You did just that, wiping the blood off with your sleeve. A few minutes passed and when you came to your senses next, you were laying in the back seat of Two-Bit’s truck, Ponyboy right next to you. He rubbed your arm gently and kissed you on the cheek.
“Are you alright now, sweetie?” he said, running a gentle hand through your dirty hair. You attempted to smile up at him.
“Yeah, I’m okay.”
